Terms of service

What FineCompass does, what stays yours, and what we do and do not promise.

The agreement

These terms are between you — the business using FineCompass — and FineCompass. By connecting a Google Ads account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not connect an account.

What the product does

FineCompass reads your Google Ads account, works out which searches bring you real customers, and proposes changes with its reasoning. It makes the changes you approve. It records what it did and how to undo it.

It is a tool, not an employee and not an agency. It does not take over your account and it does not act in secret: everything it does is on your screen, with the reason it did it.

What stays yours

  • Your Google Ads account is yours. We act on it only with the permission you grant, only within the limits you set, and only until you withdraw that permission.
  • Your data is yours. You can take a copy at any time and delete everything at any time. We claim no ownership of your campaigns, your customer records or anything we learn from them.
  • Your money is yours. Google bills you directly for your advertising. We never hold your card and we never spend your money — we change settings inside an account you are paying for.

What you are responsible for

  • Having the right to manage the Google Ads account you connect.
  • What your adverts say being true, and your business being what it claims to be.
  • Following Google’s own advertising policies — we can propose changes, but Google decides what may run.
  • The budget and the ceiling you set. The engine stays inside them; it does not know what you can afford.

What we promise, and what we do not

We promise the product does what this site says: it reads your account, explains its reasoning, asks before it spends more, and can undo what it did.

We do not promise results. Advertising depends on your market, your prices, your website and your competitors, none of which we control. Anybody who guarantees you customers from advertising is selling you something. If the product cannot see enough to say something true, it says so instead of guessing — that is the design, and it means there will be weeks where the honest answer is “not yet”.

We do not promise the service is never interrupted. We will tell you when something has gone wrong rather than letting you find out.

If something goes wrong

If a change we made cost you money that it should not have, tell us and we will look at the record — every change is kept with its reasoning and its undo, which is exactly so this conversation can be about facts. We will fix what we can fix.

Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the three months before the problem. We are not liable for lost profits or for what your advertising did or did not bring in. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Stopping

You can stop at any time, with no notice and no exit fee. Settings → Disconnect ends our access to your Google Ads account; Settings → Close this account deletes everything we hold. Your adverts keep running — closing your FineCompass account does not pause, change or delete anything in Google Ads.

We may stop serving an account that is being used for fraud, for something illegal, or in a way that endangers other customers. We will say why, and you will be able to take your data.

Price

Where a price applies it will be stated plainly before you are charged, and it will not change without us writing to you first. You are always billed by Google directly for the advertising itself; that is between you and Google.

Changes to these terms

If we change them we will say so at the top of this page and write to you before the change takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you can close your account and your adverts will carry on.
